The Jacksonville Garden Club will hold its annual Spring Sale on Saturday, May 12, from 9:00am-3:00pm in the alcove next to the Post Office on Oregon Street.
Get ready for Mother’s Day, or treat yourself, a family member, or a friend to a delightful surprise with beautiful arrangements created from fresh-cut, local flowers. Purchase some perennials nurtured this spring by Club members to refresh those problem spots in the garden. Cathy Cooper, chair for the event says, “We will have a full array of gift items including floral arrangements, hanging baskets, small succulent gardens, perennials, and of course, tasty baked goods and sweets.” This year, the bouquets will feature free, handmade gift cards, created by members in a workshop led by Gates McKibben. The cards will make each bouquet even more special.
The Spring Sale has something for everyone to enjoy in a range of prices, and all funds raised benefit local beautification projects at the Peter Britt Garden, the Jacksonville Post Office, Scheffel-Thurston Park and now the new Jacksonville Community Center. Garden Club funds also provide local students with scholarships at the Oregon Stewardship and Rogue Community College.
