The Fourth Annual Beekeepers Ball is the autumn 2015 event not to miss! On Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 7:00pm, doors will open at the Bigham Knoll Ballroom at 525 East E St in Historic Jacksonville. The theme this year is “Bee There or Bee Square,” and the night is the place to “bee” with Portland’s “Left Coast Country,” 2014 Northwest Spring Summit Champions, taking the stage! Opening for them is Southern Oregon’s own and local favorites, “Eight Dollar Mountain.” This event, hosted by JPR’s Dave Jackson, is an opportunity for the community to “party for a purpose.” The Beekeepers Ball is a fundraiser for the Bee Girl organization, a nonprofit with a world-wide presence on a mission to inspire and empower communities to conserve bees and their habitat. Aside from the amazing line-up of musicians, we will be offering a honey-themed dinner by Chef Kristen Lyon featuring locally-farmed food available for purchase, a specialty Swing Tree Brewing “Bee Girl Honey Lager,” a silent auction full of sweet items, a photo booth, and of course a costume contest!
Tickets for this 21 and over event are $23 advance, $28 at the door, available at www.beegirl.org as well as local outlets listed on the website.
About Bee Girl: The Bee Girl mission is to inspire and empower communities to conserve bees and their habitat. Bee Girl, a nonprofit organization founded by Sarah Red-Laird, aims to conserve our bees by educating the public on their importance through our programs focused on community classes and events, public lectures, our Kids and Bees program. The Bee Girl organization also facilitates the Farming for Bees initiative, empowering and recognizing land managers who provide habitat for our bees. Bee Girl engages with communities across the nation, and the globe, spreading knowledge and bringing a sense of wonder from the hive to the people.
I so want to be a bee lady…working on getting what I need to do so. Where do I join up?
Wanted to go to the Ball….but don’t know anyone to go with…next year!
