It is out of a curious combination of compassion and frustration that we, a group of concerned parents, grandparents, foster parents, educators and ministers have come together to offer hope and training to the parents of our community.
We know that some parents are just beginning their journey, while others are nearing the end of their children’s teenage years. Regardless of where they are in the journey, most are struggling with one issue or another. “Toddler-2-Teen” Parenting Workshop seeks to offer training, discussion and materials to bring hope and direction for the most important (and often difficult) job any person will ever have.
Join us on Saturday, February 1st from 1:00-5:45 pm at 425 Middle Street, Jacksonville.
We are offering five tracks of study sessions; Marriage, Special Needs Parenting, Early Childhood Development, Challenging Teen Years and Launching your Young Adult. Although this workshop is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, it is not a specifically Christian-based conference; all faiths or non-faiths are welcome to attend. We are here to address specific issues for searching parents; some workshops will be distinctly faith-based, while others will not. The workshop descriptions that are on our web registration are provided so that you can choose what will be most helpful to you and your family.
Regretfully, childcare will not be provided, as nearly all available space will be occupied by the workshops.
The cost to attend is low, $10 for the first registration and $5 for the second. If that is a problem, skip it and come anyway! Great information will be presented by professionals from all over the valley. Come, learn and leave more equipped and encouraged!
