Ruch, Oregon (October 21, 2015) – Enjoy a “Fermented Foods” demonstration and talk by Kirsten Shockey, local author of Fermented Vegetables on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 2-4 p.m., in the Community Meeting Room of the Ruch Branch Library, 7919 Highway 238.

Fermented foods are a delicious, healthy addition to any diet, including the Paleo diet. They’re full of nutritious bacteria and probiotics that aid in digestion and boost the immune system. A classic preserving method, the lacto-fermentation process yields nutrient-dense live foods packed with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and flavor, and is easy enough for complete beginners!

This free event for all ages is sponsored by Friends of Ruch Library. For more information, please contact the Ruch Branch Library at 541-899-7438 or visit jcls.org.
