New CSA in Jacksonville!

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a really neat way to support local farmers, get amazing fresh food, and provides many benefits. The basics of a CSA, depending on the farm, are that you join the CSA and once a week are able to get a fresh box of veggies and fruits straight from the farm.

Founder of the Jacksonville Farmer’s Market, Ken Snoke, has teamed up with local farms to create the J’Ville CSA. For 20 weeks, starting in June, they will DELIVER a fresh box of in-season, organic produce right to your Jacksonville home.

The box size is based on a small family, but can easily be shared with a neighbor or friend if it better fits the need. The Founding farms are Hootenanny Farm on 3rd Street, Lakota’s Gardens on Arnold Lane and Walker Creek Farm on Old Stage Road.

A variety of produce will be available, including artichokes, beans, broccoli, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, celery, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatillos, lettuce, salad mix, kale, chard, spinach, bok choy, arugula, melons, watermelons, okra, onions, peppers, radish, summer squash, winter squash, pumpkins, turnips, herbs, figs, plums, apples, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, grapes and pears.

Each week’s box will also have an order sheet to ADD products to the next week: eggs, honey, pastries, small pizza, pasta, sauces, jams & dressings.

The cost is $30/week for 20 weeks with payment plans of: Full – $600, half – $300, monthly – $120.

Haven’t you always wanted to eat healthy food? Now it’s totally convenient and reasonable!
