1969-2021

Eric, 51, of Jacksonville, was born October 19, 1969 in Norwalk, CA to Ted & Lynn Wroblewski. Eric lost his hard-fought battle with alcoholism in April 2021. Eric was raised in the area, having lived in Phoenix, OR in the early 1970’s and in Jacksonville starting in 1975. He played Little League in the Rogue Valley and went on to play baseball in high school and was an All-Star pitcher. In 1987, Eric graduated from South Medford High School, where he was often referred to as “Super Dave,” for always getting hurt from playing too hard. In 2006, Eric had his first and only child, Elle, with Shawn Joliff.

Eric also loved arrowhead hunting and was a master in the art of making arrowheads from a deer horn, a lost art he perfected. He loved being outdoors and was called “Daniel Boone” by the family! Eric excelled in any sport or video game he played, could solve the Rubik’s Cube in less 2 minutes, and enjoyed other activities such as the Junior Fireman Club, billiards, hiking, fishing, golfing, bowling, darts, and hunting for morrell mushrooms. Eric could be seen walking everywhere in town and enjoyed his talks with those he visited. He had great knowledge of the local history of the Rogue Valley, much of which he learned from his favorite teacher, Larry Smith, of Jacksonville, whom Eric greatly admired.

Eric is survived by both parents, Ted Wroblewski (Medford), Lynn Wroblewski (Jacksonville), sister, Brandy Saunders, and brother-in-law Tad Farnsworth (Medford), Daughter Elle Wroblewski (Jacksonville), cousin’s Jamie Waxman (Central Point), Chad Combe & Ranae Combe (Florida), Steven Nodwell, Michell Nodwell & Chris Eakles (Southern CA), and many in Canada, Nova Scotia and New York.

The family would like to thank the Jacksonville Police Department, especially Chief Towe, for being a friend to Eric and for showing him the respect he deserved. On July 10, there will be a get-together to honor Eric’s memory at Doc Griffin Park in Jacksonville from 11am-1pm. Snacks and cold drinks will be provided—please stop by and share your memories of Eric with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Alcoholics Anonymous.
