Chris Kranenburg, who pens our youth column, “Christopher’s Angle,” was recently honored for his soccer skills as the Oregon Special District Five Co-Player of the Year. As a member of the St. Mary’s Boys Varsity Soccer Team, Chris had a stellar high school career in the classroom and on the pitch. This year alone, he scored 24 goals, had 11 Assists and 6 header goals and a header assist in the state playoffs. In 2021 and 2023, he was awarded Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and was an All-State selection in his junior year. His work ethic was evident on and off the field as he started every game and played every position including goalkeeper. Congratulations, Chris, on this outstanding award!
