News From Britt Hill – November 2017
I think we can all agree that Britt is a part of Jacksonville and Jacksonville is a part of Britt. Moreover, because of Britt Music and Arts Festival, our Jacksonville community is bigger than we think! Meaning that support for this community reaches far beyond our city limits. Did you ever stop to think about the fact that Britt supporters invest in Jacksonville from all over the northwest, and that makes them part of our community? The word “community” can be defined as “a group of people with a particular characteristic or interest in common.” I have also seen it defined as “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.” Therefore, if a Vancouver, Washington Foundation invests $300,000 in Britt/Jacksonville or an individual philanthropist from Ashland invests $10,000 in Britt/Jacksonville, that foundation and donor become a part of our community.
Britt plays an important and inseparable role in this community. Being in business exclusively in Jacksonville for 55 years, we know and appreciate the uniqueness of our community. That is why Britt continues to do the best that we can through facility improvements, expanded free education programs, and world-class music that supports our local economy. Any successful local real estate broker will tell you that Britt is one of their most important sales tools.
Jacksonville is a special place, from its natural beauty and diverse people to its commitment to philanthropy and support for our neighbors and friends. Together, from the small business owners to the Booster Club to Rotary to the Community Center, our work helps make this community a special place.
To our supporters, patrons, and neighbors everywhere, this November, I’d like to thank you all for your incredible support of all things Britt and all things Jacksonville. I am grateful for your dedication to our community and your passion for where we live, work, and play.
