City Council Meeting, March 2—Michael Cavallaro, the Executive Director of the Rogue Valley Council of Governments, presented his annual year-end review, a copy of which may be found on the city website.
Jacksonville Presbyterian Church submitted a small event packet for an outdoor Easter service with amplification on Sunday, April 4, 2021. It came before Council because the property is subject to a Conditional Use Permit, prohibiting outdoor events. After discussion, the CUP was approved.
Planning Director Ian Foster presented Council with a list of three candidates who had applied to fill a vacant spot on the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI). The City had posted applications in November 2020 and ultimately chose Barbara “Jo” Stimson for the post.
Former Mayor Paul Becker was chosen to fill a vacancy on the Movie Committee.
Reminder: the City Council is now working under a new operating model with an open, public meeting (Zoom for now) on the first Tuesday of the month, followed by a work/study session on the third Tuesday of the month.
