The McKee Bridge Historical Society is ready for a festive holiday season and will decorate McKee Bridge, the rustic shelter in the picnic grounds, and Star Ranger Station in early December. These sites will be illuminated 24/7 into the New Year. The 5th-Annual Christmas on a Covered Bridge is set for Saturday, December 16, noon to 5pm. Turnout for this fun event has increased by 50% year over year, and visitors will be welcomed with free hot cocoa, cider and coffee…plus a mega bake sale with a bigger selection of fancy decorated cookies and holiday delicacies. There will be handcrafted gifts to satisfy your shopping list, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit, of course!

Proceeds help fund the MBHS Scholarship program with a $5,000 scholarship pool for the 2024-25 school year. Awards may range from $1,000 to $2,500 each depending on the number of qualifying applicants among graduating seniors from Jackson and Josephine County high schools and equivalent homeschoolers. February 1, 2024 is the deadline to apply. Visit www.mckeebridge.org or contact mckeebridge1917@gmail.com for more information.
