Jacksonville, OR: March is Women’s History Month, and what better way to celebrate than by shining a spotlight on the incredible women—past and present—who have left their mark on Jacksonville?

In March, Jacksonville will host a month-long celebration of the Women of Jacksonville, featuring an exciting lineup of engaging lectures, fascinating tours and special events that highlight the stories, achievements and creative contributions of local women. From trailblazing pioneers to modern-day authors and musicians, we are bringing their stories to life at venues across Jacksonville.

“We invite visitors to celebrate Jacksonville’s fascinating past and the contributions women have made to our community,” says Belita Palu-ay, Executive Director of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

  • March 1 at 2:30 p.m. — History of the Crooked House at The Miners Bazaar with owner Rosie Taylor; 235 E. California Street
  • March 8 at 2:30 p.m. — History of the US Hotel with Historic Jacksonville’s Carolyn Kingsnorth and Britt’s Abby McKee; 125 E California Street
  • March 15 at 2:30 p.m. — Rebel Heart Books and the History of the Martin Ziger Blacksmith Shop with owner Eileen Bobek; 157 E California Street
  • March 22 at 2:30 p.m. — The Story of Jane McCully as told by Carolyn Kingsnorth of Historic Jacksonville at the McCully House Pub & Lounge; 240 E California Street
  • March 29 at 2:30 p.m. — The Pot Rack and the History of the Sach’s Brothers Dry Goods Building with owner Erika Bishop; 140 E California Street
