State of the Art Presence – November 2024
THE ART PRESENCE FAMILY—our dedicated board, talented members, and amazing volunteers—want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Jacksonville community and art lovers across the region. Your support has been instrumental in helping our nonprofit art gallery and gift gallery flourish, connecting people through the arts. As we approach Thanksgiving and the holiday season, we’re excited to share a vibrant array of artistic experiences with you this November.
Special Guest Artist Showcase: Go with The Flow—This month, we’re thrilled to feature not one, but three extraordinary Guest Artists whose work explores the captivating world of fluid media. Andrea Cloud, Cyndi Triplett, and Maureen Wallace will showcase their mesmerizing creations in alcohol inks and watercolors. Each artist brings a unique perspective, using vibrant, flowing colors and patterns to evoke underwater scenes, landscapes, and other visual delights. Their work will be on display throughout November, offering a feast for the eyes. Join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 2, 1-4pm, to meet these talented artists and experience their work firsthand.
Member Artist Spotlight: Chris Anderson—Local wood sculptor and Art Presence board member Chris Anderson returns to the spotlight this month with a stunning exhibition of his larger-scale works. Chris transforms natural wood burls, slabs, and branches into intricate bowls and sculptures, revealing the hidden beauty within. His captivating pieces will be on display throughout November.
Messy Hands for All: Let’s Create Fall Trees with Silvia Trujillo—Unleash your inner artist and embrace the joy of finger painting! This month’s Messy Hands class, led by Silvia Trujillo, will explore techniques for creating impressionistic fall trees using your fingers as brushes. It’s a fun, engaging way to express yourself and create beautiful art. No experience necessary—just a willingness to get a little messy! All supplies provided. $5 recommended donation.
Gift Gallery—The holidays are just around the corner! Find unique and thoughtful gifts for your loved ones (or yourself!) in our Gift Gallery, featuring handcrafted treasures by local and regional artists. We’ll even be open on Black Friday for your shopping convenience.
Winter Hours begin November 1st: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, noon-5pm.
