McKee Bridge Historical Society (MBHS) will decorate and illuminate McKee Bridge, the rustic Depression-era shelter in the picnic grounds, and Star Ranger Station from December 10 into the New Year. Saturday, December 17, will be a fun day of activities at the bridge from noon to 6pm. Free hot beverages! A bigger, yummier bake sale than last year. Shopping for wonderful gifts and décor. Santa and Mrs. Claus will hand out gifts to children at 3-3:30pm, and then members of Voices of the Applegate will lead community caroling. Come share the magic of our 105-year-old bridge!

You can also shop at the MBHS booth at the Ruch Holiday Fair on Saturday-Sunday, November 26-27, 11am-4pm, at the Applegate Valley Fire District, 1095 Upper Applegate Road.

MBHS is offering $2500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have lived in or attended school in Applegate Valley, or are a lineal descendant of an Applegate resident. Eligibility criteria are a GPA of 3.0 or above and a plan to pursue a field of study (e.g., history, non-profit management, engineering) that aligns with MBHS’s mission—to preserve McKee Bridge, and record and share the heritage of the Applegate. February 1 is the deadline to apply. Contact mckeebridge1917@gmail.com for the application packet.
