SOHS: Tales from the Collections

Historian and NPS ranger, Larry Smith will facilitate the next Tales from the Collections event on Saturday July 25, 2015 at the downtown Medford History Center from 10a-12n. Get an exclusive peak at old time camping equipment, photos and share stories of the bears that came in the night, the deer that nuzzled your tent and the chipmunks that scurried about. You’ll see the first ever photo of Crater Lake, taken by Peter Britt in 1874 and rare old maps showing the difficult trek early tourists had to make to get to Crater Lake.

Join the Southern Oregon Historical Society for this special, free event, and bring your photos, stories and your memories. The SOHS Library and Archives will be open for research from noon-2p. SOHS has history, and so do you.

About The Southern Oregon Historical Society: Since its inception in 1946, the Southern Oregon Historical Society has collected, preserved and shared photographs and documents that reflect the lives of Rogue Valley residents.
