News From Britt Hill – June 2018

Anyone who has been to the Britt Music and Arts Festival knows that it offers an experience like no other. Throughout the region there are different outdoor music venues for both the young and old to attend, which seems to suggest something. Going to outdoor music venues gives us permission to enjoy music and life with no worries or cares—it gives us a sense of freedom and connection to nature, even if for a few hours.

While patrons have choices of venues in our region, I would argue that Britt is different because of its size and shear natural beauty unlike any other setting. With a capacity of only 2,200, the Britt Experience is uniquely intimate, offering a special interaction between artists and concertgoers, and that collaboration results in something wonderful. Again, anyone who attends Britt knows what I am talking about; it is the feeling you get when you wish upon a star—it is magical and enchanting!

At Britt, everyone can be young-at-heart, enjoy great food from our amazing local restaurants and wine from our valley’s best wineries. You can experience incredible entertainment without worrying about school, jobs and life’s responsibilities. After all, thanks to our Britt staff and Britt Society volunteers, our concerts are safe and secure. Unlike large venues, our little hillside offers hassle-free evenings. At Britt, we are not just friendly; we are family.

Now more than ever, you will see transformational changes on the Britt Hill. Don’t be surprised if you have an emotional response when you walk into the venue for the first time this year. The changes are profound and wonderful—from the new seating to better lighting and landscaping—your venue has never looked more beautiful or been more welcoming.

The enhancements made over the last six years demonstrate Britt’s commitment to Jacksonville and our region. The Britt concert experience can be best described as a community celebration of the performing arts set within the natural beauty and comfort of our pastoral venue. Britt’s investment will provide safety and comfort to all of our patrons and will help Britt maintain its unique presence in the Rogue Valley for generations to come.

This summer, it really does not matter if you are a country, classic rock, reggae or indie fan; this season covers the musical map and that map leads to Britt. With everything from Ziggy Marley to Jake Owen, you will find your spot on our beautiful Hill.
