April 3, 2020—MEDFORD, OR – Due to quickly changing circumstances surrounding the spread of COVID-19 and resulting artist schedule changes, Britt Music & Arts Festival has decided to postpone its third 2020 Britt Presents Announcement, originally scheduled for April 9, 2020, to be held on May 8, 2020. As previously announced, the Annual Season Announcement Party has been canceled and will be replaced by a virtual, social media driven event. Britt will begin the rescheduled announcement on Friday, May 8 at 6:00 PM with a virtual presentation of the third season announcement on the Britt Facebook page and on the Britt website at brittfest.org. Concert listings will be released on the website at that time. It is going to be a great Announcement with many of your favorite performers coming to the Hill this summer.
2020 Concert Season Delayed and Tanya Tucker Canceled
Britt is also delaying the opening date for the 2020 season. The first concert of the season will be the Best of Britt: Happy Together Tour on July 9. Britt is working with artists who were originally scheduled to perform in June, rescheduling concert dates to later in the season. The Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals concert has been rescheduled to August 22, 2020. Britt is optimistic that the other artists originally scheduled in June will be rescheduled for late summer, and is currently working closely with the artists to establish new dates. Britt will inform ticketholders as soon as the new dates are confirmed. Due to scheduling conflicts, Tanya Tucker is unable to reschedule.
Tickets for rescheduled concerts will be valid on the new concert dates, so hold onto tickets that have already been purchased. If ticketholders are unable to attend rescheduled concerts or concerts are canceled, ticketholders will have the opportunity to receive credits toward another concert in 2020 or 2021, donate their tickets to Britt, or receive a refund. Ticketholders must email or call the box office to request a credit, donation or refund: boxoffice@brittfest.org, 541-773-6077 or 1-800-882-7488. The revised concert dates are as follows:
- Tanya Tucker: Canceled – Refund requests must be made by June 9, 2020
- Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals: Rescheduled to Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020.
Hiking the Woodlands Project Postponed—Britt Music & Arts Festival has decided to postpone our special project Hiking the Woodlands with the BFO until summer 2021. A special project like this one, in which Britt commissioned composer Caroline Shaw for a site-specific experiential piece of music to be performed on the Jacksonville Woodland Trails, requires in-person, on-site collaboration this spring. Given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this pre-season work is not possible. Details about the project for summer 2021, including the performance schedule, will be announced at a later date.
In the event that Britt and its artists are forced to cancel concerts due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Britt will offer patrons three options for their purchased tickets. The first is a full credit valid through the 2020 and 2021 Britt seasons. The second, a donation of the value of the tickets to Britt, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The third option, Britt will provide a refund for the tickets to the canceled performance.
Britt Music and Arts Festival encourages the public and members to use our website at www.brittfest.org to purchase tickets and memberships.
