Britt announces the resignation of Jim Fredericks as the organization’s executive director. Fredericks will be taking on a new international business opportunity and will remain based in southern Oregon.
Board of Directors President Ken Wells says, “It’s with great regret that we accept Jim’s resignation. During his tenure, Britt has experienced growth in ticket sales and memberships, strengthened its relationship with the community and re-engineered many of its operations to position the organization for the future. We wish Jim great success in his new endeavor; he is a friend to all of us at Britt and he will be missed as Executive Director. However, Britt has a strong, cohesive and very experienced and committed staff, and a board of directors with a clear vision of Britt’s future. We are confident that our transition to a new Executive Director will be swift and seamless.”
Fredericks says, “My time as Britt’s Executive Director has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, both from a professional and personal standpoint. The magic of the Britt Experience is something that cannot be replicated anywhere. My family and I love the Rogue Valley and I will continue to work with Britt and the Board of Directors and to support the organization.”
In the recently completed 2011 season, Britt experienced a 15% increase in concert attendance over 2010. In addition, the 2011 season included new programs in education and community outreach, an increase in net membership contributions, and improvements to the Britt hill, including a revamped and expanded concessions.
Britt Festivals invites audiences and artists to celebrate the joy of live performance, the power of community and the magic of the Britt Experience.
