IMPORTANT UPDATES ABOUT LOCATIONS THIS WEEKEND; SATURDAY NIGHT CONCERT BACK ON THE BRITT HILL
In response to improved air quality in southern Oregon, and after consultation with the NOAA National Weather Service, we have decided to reverse a decision announced yesterday, and move the Saturday evening concert back to the Britt hill in Jacksonville.
The concert scheduled for tonight (Friday) will still take place at the new South Medford High School, at 1551 Cunningham Avenue (off of S. Columbus Ave.) in Medford, as announced yesterday. Our crews are in place to move everything back to the Britt hill tomorrow, in time for the Saturday evening performance.
All through the week we have hoped that the conditions would improve, and we could keep the concerts on the Britt hill, where we belong. Although we know these changes may create some confusion, we are taking the opportunity to give our patrons, our orchestra, and the Music Director finalist Mei-Ann Chen the true Britt Experience they all deserve. We are very grateful for your patience and understanding, as we work through these unusual circumstances.
Some details about this weekend:
Friday (performance at South Medford High):
• There will be no concessions, and no outside food or beverages allowed.
• The pre-concert music and pre-concert Q&A have been cancelled.
• The box office will be set up in the South Medford lobby, and will open at 6 p.m. If you have tickets in Will Call, you’ll be able to pick them up there.
• The doors to the gymnasium, where the performance will take place, will open at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
• There will be no Member Early Entry Gate for this performance.
• Seating will be in the bleachers of the gymnasium. Reserved seat ticket holders will be seated in the sections closest to the stage. Lawn ticket holders will be seated further back.
• Patrons who need accessible seating will be seated in chairs on the ground level in front of the stage.
• Patrons who already have tickets for this concert can come to the new location with their existing tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door at South Medford. Call the box office for ticket or concert information at 541-773-6077.
Saturday (at the Brill hill in Jacksonville):
• The Box Office on the Britt hill will open at 3 p.m., as usual
• Gates will open at 6 p.m. as usual
• Because of the change announced yesterday, the third-party concessions staff was redirected to another venue. At this writing, it’s likely we will not have concessions for Saturday’s concert. Patrons are welcome to bring in their own food, and beer and wine to the Britt hill, as usual.
