Britt announces the addition of a second fall concert to the 2014 lineup, with folk duo The Quiet American appearing on Wednesday, October 15 at 8 p.m. The duo will appear in an intimate indoor concert on the Britt stage, with the audience seated on the stage and the stage doors closed.

The Quiet American is a modern folk revival duo made up of husband and wife Aaron and Nicole Keim. The duo incorporates traditional ballads, banjo breakdowns, raggy choruses, gospel duets and other Americana gems into their music, all delivered on a variety of acoustic instruments. The Quiet American’s latest album is called Songs from a Rocking Chair.

Aaron and Nicole Keim were also members of the Britt Ukulele Getaway faculty in 2014. As part of their October appearance, they will conduct a workshop called “In Easy Reach: Left Hand Skill Building for Ukulele.” The workshop is open to all levels of ukulele players.

Tickets for the performance are $14, and are on sale now online at brittfest.org, by phone at 541-773-6077 or in person at the Britt office. All tickets are general admission.

Tickets for the workshop are $20, or $15 if purchased with a concert ticket. Workshop/concert bundle must be purchased by phone or in person.

More information about the concert and workshop is available at the Britt box office at 541-773-6077 or 1-800-882-7488. Britt’s box office is now open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 216 West Main St. in Medford.
