Britt adds Brandi Carlile, Michael Franti Children’s Concert to lineup
Britt Festivals is pleased to announce the addition of two “Britt favorites” to the 2012 lineup. Folk rock singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile performs at Britt on August 31, and Michael Franti & Friends performs a children’s matinee on August 21.
Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile is known for her expressive, powerful vocals and albums including The Story and Giving Up the Ghost. Carlile has toured continually since the release of her debut album in 2005, and from her earliest days on the Seattle coffeehouse circuit, she has grown a loyal audience in a grassroots fashion. She returns to Britt by popular demand.
Michael Franti and Friends present a children’s matinee on the Britt hill at 2 p.m. on August 21. Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets for the matinee are $14.50 per person, and free for children two and under. Franti and his band Spearhead will perform at Britt that evening in a 7 p.m. performance. Franti’s music combines hip hop with funk, reggae, folk and rock.
The Franti children’s concert is the third children’s concert booked for the 2012 season. Patrons may purchase all three concerts in Family Concert Package for $27.50 per person, which includes a $2 discount per concert.
Tickets for both added concerts are available to members beginning tomorrow, May 1.
