State of the Art Presence – March 2025
SPRING IS IN THE AIR, and Jacksonville is bursting with new life and creativity! Come experience the artistic vibrancy of our city and immerse yourself in the beauty of local art at Art Presence, Jacksonville’s non-profit art gallery.
March Guest Artist: Susan Migliore—Our Guest Artist wall will showcase the stunning work of local oil painter Susan Migliore throughout March. Susan’s masterful use of oil paint captures the breathtaking beauty of landscapes and the expressive spirit of animals and people. A lifelong passion for oil painting has fueled her fascination with the interplay of light, color, and texture. “The majority of my work is done outside, where the intensities and subtleties of light, color, and mood are most on display.” Come experience Susan’s work and engage with her about her artistic process at the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 1, from 1-4pm. The exhibit will be on display from February 26 through March 30.
Member Artist Spotlight: Suzan Hatch—Our Member Artist of the month for March, Suzan Hatch, creates unique and highly collectible artwork with a distinctive personal style from her home studio in southern Oregon. “I create artwork using glass, metal, ceramic, semi-precious stone, and other interesting and fun materials to form intricate design.” Come by the gallery and experience the magic of Suzan’s intriguing and enlightening pieces.
Messy Hands for All: Collage with Dana Bilello Barrow—Unleash your creativity and join member artist Dana Bilello Barrow for an afternoon of collage making! Using various torn and cut pieces of paper and a whole lotta glue, you’ll bring to life both realistic and abstract creations. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike—you’ll get started with a few warm-up projects before diving into your masterpiece. Bring your favorite photos, images, magazine pages, or any other inspirational reference image with you to spark your imagination.Supplies are provided free of charge thanks to a generous grant from the Carpenter Foundation. The class will be held in our upstairs classroom , March 8, 1:30-3pm. Gift Gallery—The Gift Gallery will be blooming with new jewelry, accessories, and small artworks throughout the month of March! Come find the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one.
