Sipping & Playing in Jacksonville – October 2026

JACKSONVILLE HAS plenty of places for a great meal, but sometimes what you really want is a giant slice of pizza, a cold drink, and a 25-cent game of pool.

That is exactly what we found at Brickline Pizza Co.

More than a few of our friends had told us we needed to check out Brickline. We had ordered pizza to go before and were completely caught off guard by just how enormous their 24-inch pies are, but somehow, we had never actually made it inside. So, this time, we grabbed the kids and decided it was finally time.

We immediately loved the feel of the place. Brickline has everything you want in a neighborhood pizza joint. You can grab a slice at the counter, order a drink, and play a game of pool for just 25 cents. Our kids loved it, and needless to say, we went through quite a few quarters.

Of course, the pizza is the real reason to go. Brickline specializes in New York-style pizza with big, thin, foldable slices, and there is actually some New York history behind it. Co-owner Laura learned the craft while working in a New York pizza shop in the 1980s. Her son, Sage, grew up sharing her love of pizza, and eventually they brought that experience to Jacksonville. Today, Brickline makes its dough and sauce in-house, and their whole pies measure an impressive 24 inches.

You do not have to commit to the giant pie, though. One of my favorite things about Brickline is being able to walk in and order a slice. And when I say a slice, these are not small. My husband and I actually split one, which is another great option if you just want a taste or want to try a couple of different pizzas. Along with the classics, they feature a different specialty pizza each month that you can order by the slice or as a whole pie. When we visited, it was The Ranch Hand with chicken, bacon, and house-made ranch. It was exactly as good as it sounds.

They also have Cheesy Garlic Spirals, salads, and gluten-free and vegan pizza options. And you know I am always checking out the beverage selection. I loved seeing several local wine options from Quady North, while my husband was equally happy with the beer choices. He went with a pFriem Japanese Lager, and I enjoyed a glass of Quady North’s 2023 La Battalla, a red blend that was perfect with our pizza. There are also craft sodas for the kids, along with cider and seltzers, so everyone has plenty to choose from.

But this is Sipping & Playing, so we have to get back to that pool table. There is something about pizza and pool that just goes together. For 25 cents a game, the kids could play while we finished eating, and it made a simple dinner out feel like a night out.

The timing also feels perfect as we head into fall. Kids’ sports are starting back up, football season is here, and there always seems to be a reason to feed a crowd. Brickline works just as well for grabbing a slice after practice as it does for picking up one of those giant pizzas for a football-watching party. And for those nights when getting everyone out the door just isn’t happening, their app makes things incredibly easy. You can choose pickup or delivery right from the app, and I especially loved the photos of the pizzas and other menu items. If you’re like me and need to see your options before deciding what sounds good, it definitely helps!

I think that is what I like most about Brickline. It does not try to be anything other than a really good pizza joint. So, stop in for a slice, grab a drink, and challenge the kids to a game of pool. Or take home one of those enormous 24-inch pies and see if your family can finish it.
