FLAGS FOR OUR VETERANS

The Friends of Jacksonville’s Historic Cemetery started placing flags on all our Veterans graves in the Jacksonville Cemetery this morning, Monday, May 23, and will have them all in place for the Memorial Day Holiday. There are approximately 376 Veterans buried in the cemetery and all will be honored for their service and sacrifices this coming weekend when family members, friends and visitors stop by to pay their respects. Volunteers with the FOJHC have been placing the flags on the grave sites for the past 4 years and they are paid for by donations.

The FOJHC will be on site Sunday, May 29 and Monday, May 30 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to assist people looking for grave sites of loved ones, and answering questions about the cemetery.

Visit the FOJHC website for more information and events in the cemetery.
