News from Britt Hill – August 2025

AUGUST IS UPON US, and with it 15 Britt shows and our fundraising gala to support the US Hotel capital campaign. It’s a big month! As always, there’s truly something for everyone this month, but there are a few highlights I want to share.

The August 8 show, Waxahatchee, is one that I’ve been looking forward to for months. I got to see Waxahatchee live in Knoxville, Tennessee this past March, and they’re just incredible. For all of us who love acts like Sarah McLachlan, Feist, Wilco, or other indie rock, dreamy music, Waxahatchee is the next band you need to check out. Singer/songwriter Kathryn Crutchfield has an incredible voice that matches her soulful melodies and thoughtful lyrics perfectly. Highly recommend.

The week of August 10 brings five shows that are radically different, from the nearly sold-out Rainbow Kitten Surprise to our first ever Mariachi performance. That week also features fan-favorite Buena Vista Orchestra, jam-bluegrass sensations Leftover Salmon and the Infamous Stringdusters (who were fantastic last summer), and of course, the Australian Pink Floyd show. It’s going to be an amazing week of music!

The rest of the month is a mix of nostalgia (the Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening), legends (Wynonna! Keb’ Mo’ and Shawn Colvin!), and first-time acts on the hill (like the wildly popular String Cheese Incident).

When I said there’s something for everyone, I truly meant it.

In the midst of this, on August 28, Britt is hosting a gala fundraiser on the stage, where we’ll be kicking off our efforts to raise money to refurbish the US Hotel. Tickets for the 5pm dinner and auction are on sale now, and there’s also an afterparty-only ticket so you can join us for a Silent Disco Dance Party at 8pm. We’re hoping to raise significant funds to kick off our project as we work on grant funding and more, so please consider joining us to raise a paddle, eat some delicious food, and dance the night away. We cannot do this without your support!

It’s already been an incredible summer, and there’s plenty more music to hear. I’ll see you on the hill!

All best, Abby
