September 23, 1941 – August 25, 2024

Judith Lynn Lyon passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. Judie was the beloved wife of the late Stanley W. Lyon. Loving mother of Jennifer L. Lyon and Kathryn K. Lyon. Devoted sister of Charles W. “Chip” Koehler and the late Michael G. Koehler.

Sister-in-law of Laura Koehler, Gaile Koehler, and Gus Lyon. Aunt of Kristen Koehler (Greg Martinez), Andy Koehler, Heidi Belcher (Jerry Belcher). Great Aunt of Zak Drew and Sam Drew. Daughter of the late William G. Koehler and Kathryn C. Koehler. She is also survived and fondly remembered by relatives, dear friends, and especially her beloved Shih Tzu, Jewel.

Born in Glendale, CA, Judie spent her formative years in Middletown, OH, and Chula Vista, CA, before her marriage to her beloved husband, Stanley and embracing the life of a Navy Officer’s wife and becoming a mother. She moved with her family to Tustin, CA, where she raised her children. Her journey continued through Huntington Beach, CA, retirement in Jacksonville, OR, and eventually to Arabi, LA, after Stanley’s passing.

Judie’s life was marked by her unwavering altruism and commitment to helping those in need. In the early 1980s, she took the initiative to organize and operate Martha’s House, the first women’s homeless shelter in Orange County, CA, demonstrating her deep concern for the welfare of others. A lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, Judie was also actively involved in her community as a devoted member of the Boosters Club in Jacksonville, OR. Her passion for community service extended to her involvement in the Garden Club, where she was the President from 2007-2009, and her enjoyment of playing Bridge with friends.

Judie was renowned for her warm nature, generous spirit, and enduring kindness. Rest in peace, dear Judie. You’ve touched so many lives with your love and dedication. Your love and friendship will be profoundly missed by your family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
