9th Soroptimist Wine Walk for Women’s Health is September 25

The 9th Soroptimist Wine Walk for Women’s Health will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $35 per person with preregistration, $40 at the door.

The scenic 3.5 mile walk will be at Del Rio Vineyard and Winery in Gold Hill Oregon, featuring wine tasting of six vineyards: Cliff Creek Cellars, Del Rio Vineyard and Winery, Eden Vale Winery, Serra Vineyards, LaBrasseur Vineyard, and Longsword Winery. Music by the East Main Band.

This event raises funds to assist low income women who are under-insured or uninsured to get needed health care for diseases that impact women. Past recipients include: American Cancer Society, Rogue Community Health Center, La Clinica, Asante Ashland Community Hospital, and Providence Community Health Foundation, among others.

This Soroptimist Wine Walk event has allowed our local clubs to distribute between $8,000 to $12,000 annually for eight years. Funds generated from the Wine Walk will stay in Jackson and Josephine County.

Sponsors can contribute to 5 levels of support – PRESENTING ($5,000); GOLD ($3,000); SILVER ($1,000); BRONZE ($500) and Wine Walk Team Sponsor ($350). Businesses, churches, groups and individuals are also invited to form teams. Registered participants will receive a souvenir wine glass and team photos. Peruvian Point and Fired Up Food Trucks will on site.
