News From Britt Hill – May 2019
Whether you were a teenager in the 1960s, or born in 2001, Britt is the place to be this summer. Diverse, varied, and assorted, were all words used to describe the 2019 Britt Line-up at our April 11th Season Announcement Party, where our Britt family gathered to celebrate the launch of another spectacular Britt season. We revealed numerous first time acts to Britt, as well as many of your favorite returning performers.
If you think about it, Britt is the beating heart at the center of Jacksonville’s entertainment ecosystem. The rhythm of music from the Hill in early June signals the beginning of summer. Just like our diverse patrons, Britt will offer a variety of genres, with their own unique culture and audiences. Whether you are a fan of rock, jazz, reggae or country—we can all agree that Britt unites us around the sounds that move us, emotionally and/or physically. We are not here to tell you what the best music is. We are here to encourage you to enjoy our special gathering place, and explore the magical mystery tour of music.
We will kick off the season on June 13 with RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles. This is not just any tribute band; RAIN gives audiences the experience of seeing Beatles’ songs performed live that were never done so by the band itself. RAIN, is the longest-running Beatles tribute act, having played Broadway and toured for years. If you are a Beatles fan, this is the must see, feel good, concert of the season.
After the orchestra season, we will switch gears and bring you one of country music’s hottest stars, Brett Young. Brett will share personal stories that are relatable and honest, while belting out his greatest country hits from, In Case You Didn’t Know to Mercy.
As you can see from this column and the full line-up listed in this month’s Jacksonville Review, we have some amazing shows that are going to sell-out reserved seats long before public sales. So, if you are not a member and discover a concert that you just HAVE to see up close and personal, join today, before public ticket sales begin on May 10.
See you on the Hill!
