“Yes, we know it is about 100 degrees, but we are getting in the Christmas Spirit now,” says Sandra Flowers, who’s helping organize Jacksonville’s 2016 Victorian Christmas. “I’m just like Santa and keeping a list and taking names!” she adds.

To make the Victorian Christmas event a success, organizers, musicians, parade entrants and regular “busy bees” are needed to fill a variety of volunteer spots and positions.

Sandra says, “Although the month-long events are sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the Victorian Christmas is really a community effort.” Tim Balfour, the Executive Director of the Chamber states emphatically, “It takes everyone— merchants, churches, organizations and citizens—to pull off this big of an undertaking.”

The Tree Lighting is the kickoff event with more exciting events to follow. This year, Father Christmas has a new North Pole location and both residents and visitors will enjoy more weekend entertainment than ever before. To join in the fun…volunteer and be part of the holiday tradition!
