This spring 24 special-needs endangered Desert Tortoises will arrive at an Oregon sanctuary. The Friends of the Applegate Library are proud to present Gale Bradshaw who will discuss this move and a program that will help them during “Tortoise Rescue,” on Sunday, February 16, from 3-4 p.m., at the Applegate Branch Library, 18485 North Applegate Road.
Because of injuries and deformities from abuse and poor care as pets, the special needs Tortoises were slated to be euthanized, but instead will come to the Tortoise and Hare Sanctuary. Ms. Bradshaw, an Upper Applegate resident, is the founder of the Kerulos Center-Science in Service to Humanity.
Refreshments will be available courtesy of the Friends of the Applegate Library.
