The October Imaginarium: Hats & Masks—Every year, Art Presence Art Center sends out a call to artists, challenging them to create their most imaginative work in a theme that changes annually. This year is our fifth annual Challenge, and the theme of Hats & Masks yielded many wonderfully creative pieces of art in a wide range of mediums which we will display in our October Imaginarium open exhibition. We also have a nice selection in the Imaginarium Small Works section, offering smaller, more affordable pieces. The show begins October 6 and runs through October 29, with the gallery open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Have you been summoning your own creativity to make a fabulous costume for Halloween? Please, join us in all your glory to welcome the artists of Southern Oregon who participated in our October Challenge, as well as participating Art Presence members, at a festive reception on Saturday, October 7, from 1:00-4:00pm, featuring live music by Minstrel Streams.

Art Presence Offsite Exhibits—Abstracts, a show of paintings by Patrick Beste, continues at Pioneer Village through December. Charlotte Wirfs’ textile art exhibit in the Jacksonville Library’s Naversen Room also remains on display.

Gallery Closure—Art Presence Art Center’s gallery will be closed for renovations during the month of November. We will finish the gallery walls—currently covered with burlap—with sheet rock and replace the carpet. Art Presence previously submitted applications for two grants to support this project and we look forward with great anticipation to hearing the decisions.
