Southern Oregon Historical Society is hosting a fashion show of glamorous dresses worn by our very own Hollywood star, Ginger Rogers. While not originally from the Rogue Valley, Ginger purchased a 1000 acre ranch along the Rogue River in the early 1940s and retired to the Rogers Rogue River Ranch in 1969 after she sold her Beverly Hills home.
Highlights Include:
- A fashion show of twenty gowns
- A fashion show of the Ginger Rogers lingerie line produced by JC Penney
- A presentation by Roberta Olden, Ms. Rogers’ personal secretary
- A recreation of the famous Fred and Ginger dance to Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
- Live music, including a performance of Lovely to Look At
- A silent auction of glitzy and glamorous items, including Ginger Rogers’ memorabilia
- A gourmet tea of cookies and finger sandwiches, and a no-host bar
- Several gowns will be sold at a live auction at the end of the event!
