Learn about personal and family preparedness, including hazards and how to stay safe during emergencies that occur in our region during the Pillowcase Project, for children ages 8-11, a preparedness education program put on by the American Red Cross. The Pillowcase Project has a limit of 25 children, so please call the library to register.

The program leads students through a “learn, practice, share” framework to engage them in disaster preparedness. Students receive a sturdy pillowcase upon completion of the program in which they are encouraged to build their personal emergency supplies kit. Children will be empowered to make emergency preparedness a priority in their homes and communities. They will also learn how to prepare a Pillowcase Kit that will provide a source of inner strength and resiliency in emergency situations and so much more!
