Local Plant Clinic Saves Gardens in Distress

Unique helpline provides expert advice for home garden emergencies.

“What’s wrong with my tomatoes?”

“How can I keep these bugs off my roses?”

“Help! My favorite tree is dying!”

Questions like these are a way of life for the Master Gardeners who staff the Plant Clinic at the OSU extension office.

The Plant Clinic’s mission is to be the ultimate authority in diagnosing and solving home garden problems, both large and small. Through a rigorous training program, Plant Clinic volunteers are trained to serve the local gardening community as expert diagnosticians. They serve as the special investigators who discover what ails your garden – and then offer advice on how to fix it.

Consultants at the nonprofit Plant Clinic are Master Gardener volunteers who pride themselves on the high quality of the facts and information they provide.

As representatives of Oregon State University’s extension service, their recommendations are based on proven, science-based research, as well as their own considerable experience as gardeners. Master Gardeners use a variety of authorized library and online resources. And if they can’t find the answer, they’ll get it from OSU’s resident professional research staff.

Best of all, this valuable information and advice is a free local resource, available to anyone. Plant Clinic volunteers can answer your garden questions and solve your garden problems – and it won’t cost you a penny.

Expert advice. Free service. And you can even visit the Plant Clinic at a neighborhood closer to you! This summer and throughout the fall, you’ll find the Plant Clinic information booth open and eager to help while you shop at the weekly Growers & Crafters Markets in Medford and Ashland.
