The Britt ACE (Arts Career Exploration) program is presenting a concert by the Portland Cello Project in the Britt Performance Garden on June 4th, 2015 from 8 to 10 p.m.  The concert is a culmination of knowledge through a year of study by the ACE participants, who consist of Medford students from both North and South Medford High Schools, and who have one objective: to put on their very own show. Throughout the past year, the students have been learning all they can about Britt through job shadowing, concert attendance and other opportunities to gain the knowledge they need to put on a successful Britt performance. They will be organizing all aspects of the concert pertaining to marketing, ticket design, management, contract administration, etc.

The concert will donate its proceeds to both the Britt Education department and the Sparrow Clubs organization. Sparrow Clubs is charity organization that helps children in need of medical attention get that help through the use of schools and sponsors in the Pacific Northwest. Each school has a Sparrow this year, which is how the interns of the program gained knowledge about the organization. Supporting the local charity is a great way to give back to the community while producing an event everyone can appreciate.

The Portland Cello Project plays and mixes multiple genres of music to accommodate many preferences of their audience. The atmosphere at the event will be laidback and entertaining. All ages are welcome, and the ACE’s encourage everyone in the valley who would like to enjoy a pleasant evening while supporting the community to come out and have fun. Tickets go on sale May 18th— $20 general admission and $15 for students with valid I.D. Children 12 and under are free to attend this concert! Tickets can be purchased at the Britt Office, 216 West Main St in Medford, at the door, and at either North or South Medford High schools activities window for students. The ACE’s look forward to seeing you there!
