Medford, Oregon (May 16, 2016) — Jackson County Library Services and the Southern Oregon Historical Society are proud to announce the June topic in the 2016 Windows in Time history series: “From Jacksonville to Hollywood: The Life of Pinto Colvig.” This noon lecture will be presented by local historian, Ben Truwe on Wednesday, June 1, at the Medford Branch Library, 205 South Central Avenue, and Wednesday, June 8, at the Ashland Branch Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard.

Pinto Colvig is probably best remembered as the creator of Goofy, Grumpy and Bozo the Clown. This talk will focus on Colvig’s formative years and early work with Disney.

Ben Truwe is a former Medford city councilman and a research affiliate with the Southern Oregon University Library of Anthropology. For the last ten years he has led monthly historical walking tours of Medford.
