The Horse Plow at Historic Hanley Farm on Saturday, July 9 was awesome! These beautiful horses were hard at work dredging up the soil in preparation for future plantings.

Hanley Farm is truly a gem. Owned and operated by the Southern Oregon Historical Society, it’s a must see. Hanley Farm offers many events throughout the year, and is also open for tours – guided or non-guided. Check out our post on the self-guided tours offered this summer!

The gorgeous horses drew a crowd – and did not disappoint. Tours of the Historic Hanley Farmhouse were also offered, and another opportunity to stroll the landscaped grounds, the vegetable garden and chicken coop. On this particular day, the resident peacock was getting amorous with a roving chicken – see picture below!

Hanley Farm is located at 1053 Hanley Road, in between Jacksonville and Central Point. For more information, visit www. SOHS.org or call 541-773-2675.
