New Napa Wine has opened a wine bar in Grants Pass, Oregon. The new venue features a selection of Southern Oregon wines paired with art, food, music, comedy, and other fun, educational events.

Grants Pass, OR – In 2010, Sunset magazine named Southern Oregon the “New Napa” because it beckons the visitor back to the intrigue of small tasting rooms and hand crafted wines – reminiscent of the way Napa used to be, when the first grape vintages were made into wines. In that spirit, a unique wine bar called New Napa Wine features a selection of Southern Oregon wines while pairing them at fun, educational events, with art, comedy, music and delicious food creations. After months of work in social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, the co-owners of New Napa Wine have opened a wine bar in Grants Pass to promote the rural sophistication of Southern Oregon’s wine country.

“Our wine club members, customers, and the local community want to get a well-rounded sense of what Southern Oregon offers while enjoying music, entertainment, and pairings and learning more about wine,” says Corey McTaggart. McTaggart should know what Southern Oregon wine lovers want. She has been in the local wine industry for twelve years and has blogged for Northwest Wine Anthem out of Seattle as a resident expert in Southern Oregon wines.

Her business partner, Benjamin Blue Abben, brings a diversity to their business model by offering cutting edge food pairings, performing stand-up comedy, and creating music as an acoustic guitar player and member of local band SIP (Survive in Peace). Both co-owners hail from and live in the heart of Southern Oregon wine country.

For July through September, New Napa Wine is pairing their wine with abstract expressionist art by Jacksonville artist Cammy Davis. Cammy’s art is vibrant, bold and energetic, which is the feeling of New Napa Wine. “I was honored when they asked me to hang my pieces for their first art exhibit. New Napa Wine has such a vibrancy, both in the owners and in the vibe they are creating in their venue. You can feel the excitement when you step through the often open garage door which is open to the “G” Street sidewalk.”

Cammy moved to Southern Oregon 6 years ago from Seattle and has been taking the local art scene by storm since then. Her abstract paintings can be seen in galleries throughout Washington and Oregon and locally at PUSH Art Gallery in Ashland and Rogue Gallery and Art Center in Medford. Cammy also makes a line of products with images of her paintings, including wine charms and wine stoppers, which are available at New Napa Wine in Grants Pass, Dancin’ Vineyards in Jacksonville and Paddington Station in Ashland.

Visit New Napa Wine on July 1st, First Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm to meet artist Cammy Davis and New Napa Wine owners Benjamin Blue Abben and Corey McTaggert and enjoy a glass of wine. New Napa Wine is located at 114 SE “G” St in Grants Pass. For taste, glass and bottle sales, is open to the public of all ages, and can be reached at 541-218-3359.
