At 2 pm on Thursday, February 26, Mayor Paul Becker and others gathered at City Hall to open and review 4 contractor bids for the seismic upgrade portion of the historic courthouse renovation. Bids were made by Batzer Construction ($298,600), Taylor Site Development ($357,900), The Ausland Group ($221,150), and Vitus Construction ($308,992).
After announcing the bids, Tom Glover of the City’s Facilities Management team announced that due to newly-discovered information garnered in the past 24 hours regarding certain wall and roof structure components, the city would be reviewing all bids to insure the scope of work included in the bids is in-line with the newly-discovered structural information. The city is expected to award this seismic upgrading bid for the first phase of the courthouse renovation within the next week or so.
