Donna Briggs

Britt Festivals is proud to announce that Donna Briggs has been named as President and CEO of Britt. Her previous title was Executive Director. Britt Board of Directors Chairman Ken Trautman says, “based on the significant responsibilities of our key executive officer, it was appropriate that her job title mirror her responsibilities.”

Following the national trend of strong non-profit organizations, the Britt Board has intentionally been moving away from a working Board to a governance Board, giving the President/CEO operational responsibility.

Trautman says, “since taking over the Britt leadership in 2011, Donna and her staff have re-engaged the Britt community in meaningful ways. A successful capital campaign was completed, along with a sustainable and diverse capacity building strategy that we believe will help ensure the Britt experience for generations to come.”

Briggs has also been selected by Southern Oregon University as a 2013 Alumni Ambassador, the equivalent of SOU’s Hall of Fame. This honor celebrates academic distinctiveness and high professional achievement with ceremonies taking place on October 17.

The 2013 Britt season continues with its final concerts this weekend: REO Speedwagon and Jake Shimabukuro. For information and ticket prices, visit brittfest.org or call 541-773-6077 or 1-800-882-7488.

Britt Festivals invites audiences and artists to celebrate the joy of live performance, the power of community and the magic of the Britt Experience. Through ongoing education and audience development programs, Britt connects audiences to the inspirational power of classical music, and helps new generations of listeners discover the wonder of music and performance. In addition to presenting concerts, Britt Festivals maintains an education program through the Britt Institute. Established in 1985, the Britt Institute hosts a variety of programs including summer camps, workshops, elementary school activities, lectures and “meet the artist” opportunities.
