Or that the Christmas tree is a German tradition, introduced by Prince Albert in 1841? Or that the first Christmas card was sent in the 1840s? Celebrate Christmas with the Beekman Family and learn more about the origins of our holiday traditions, and how Christmas was celebrated at the historic Beekman home! For three weekends in December, costumed docents offer Victorian Christmas tours of the1873 Beekman House, home to Jacksonville’s wealthiest pioneer family.
