Sheri Croy will be the featured artist for ART’clectic’s “Garden Party Event” in May 2017. Her unique glass and paper fusion pieces will be displayed at the Art Presence Art Center, located on the grounds of New City Hall at 206 E. 5th Street. Fifteen other Southern Oregon artists will be joining Sheri. The event will open Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00am and be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00am-5:00pm throughout the month of May.

Sheri combines her love of color and movement into her intricate original designs, which almost always express her love of the ocean. She achieves her art by layering cut or torn tissue and novelty papers onto three-dimensional glass. Sheri describes herself as a “land-locked hula dancer,” deriving her inspiration from land, sea, nature, and sky. You will admire Sheri’s art displayed on jewelry, votive candle holders, ornaments, and larger glass pieces which are designed to be illuminated from within. She also works with watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, and ink, creating two-dimensional art works.

Often, Sheri collaborates with others creating a more personal piece to capture their own precious moments, memories, and favorite venues using the technique she has perfected over the last five years. Details are created in charming miniature as well as bold design.

To speak with Sheri and learn more about her technique, she can be found at Art Presence on Saturday, May 6 from noon-3:00pm and again at that same time on Saturday, May 20.

Meet all the ART’clectic artists during the reception on May 6 from 1:00-3:00pm at Art Presence Art Center. Refreshments will be available with live music by Matt and Rebecca Stuart of Minstrel Streams.
