Come Relax With Us!

Deborah Thompson is Out Standing in Her Field!

Plan to join us at the 2012  Oregon Lavender Festival to enjoy the Oregon countryside at its fragrant best. Twenty-four lavender destinations throw open their doors to the public for visitors to experience lavender in Oregon firsthand by touring lavender farms, lavender nurseries, and the Yamhill Lavender Festival.

Tour Lavender Farms and Nurseries, each with its own selection of different varieties of lavender, and each with its own activities arranged especially for you and your family.   At lavender farms, you can cut bouquets of fresh lavender, and at many sites, you can purchase specialty lavender plants and products or speak to experts on growing and cultivating lavender.

Festivities at many of the sites feature lavender-centric booths with fine arts, crafts, local lavender products for sale, lavender oil distillation demonstrations, live music, craft classes, lavender food, activities for kids, master gardeners to provide gardening advice, and much more.  At the Yamhill Festival don’t miss the Plein Air Art Show and Sale of paintings featuring Oregon lavender farms. Photographers have the opportunity to submit lavender themed photographs to the third annual OLA Photo contest.

Plan your day by visiting www.OregonLavenderDestinations.com for a complete listing of participating lavender destinations, activities, and maps. The closest participants to Jacksonville this year are: The Applegate Lavender Farm on Hwy 238, between between the Provolt and Applegate stores, Goodwin Creek Gardens in Williams, and the OSU Lavender Garden on Hanley Road.

Every year, a portion of the proceeds from the festival is donated to charitable and community organizations.  This cooperative event brings local growers and community volunteers together to educate the public about the delightful and beneficial uses of lavender.

The Oregon Lavender Association is a nonprofit organization designed to support the promotion of lavender as a viable, thriving agribusiness in the Pacific Northwest.
