In the November General Election, Jacksonville voters will elect three City Councilors and a Mayor. Three candidates have filed to run for City Council. Just minutes before press time, the Review confirmed that Councilor Jocie Wall will be challenging Mayor Paul Becker for the mayor’s seat. Since the filing deadline is on August 30, (well after our press deadline) the Review will update its website and Facebook page in the event other candidates enter the race.

Incumbent Councilors Criss Garcia and David Jesser are seeking re-election. The third candidate in the council race is Steve Casaleggio, well-known in the community for his years of volunteerism with the Boosters Club and civic service on numerous city committees and commissions.

Coming in October, you’ll hear from the candidates in their own words as to why they are seeking your vote and what they hope to accomplish over the next four years.
